How did Se.cure begin?

Growing up as a pastor's kid, I saw a lot of leaders around me who didn't necessarily have a safe space to go to. I saw leaders give up on their faith, ignore their calling in isolation, and have no one to walk alongside them. That bothered me because I saw the triune God, as revealed in Scripture, as the one who does his best work in community. He doesn't isolate and shame us but convicts, forgives, and brings us back to a restored relationship. I want to see Christian leadership redefined in our generation. For Christian leaders to know that they can always rely on their safe spaces to fuel them, encourage them, pray for them, laugh with them, and walk through this journey with them. Jesus died for us so that we could have a restored relationship with Him and his people. I want Christian leaders to experience that kind of community. As an emerging Indian leader, I noticed that the Indian community was struggling. We didn't have the safe space I yearned to create for others. We didn't have mentors pouring into us, and we didn't see our stories the same way God saw our stories. So, I decided to pray about it. The Lord very clearly gave me the name and vision for "Se.cure"-- A retreat-based leadership development program for emerging Indian leaders. The goal of Se.cure is simple and yet intricate. To help emerging Indian leaders get secure in God's character and see cure in their own life stories. We plan to do this through cohort-based retreats, coaching programs, and other practical resources. A profound thing happens when we learn to truly see people. I hope to set an example of leaders prioritizing servant leadership through my work as a daughter, sister, friend, and founder of Se.cure.

What is Se.cure?

Se.cure is a retreat based leadership development program for the emerging Indian leader (EIL). A place for EIL to be informed by their unique story, voice and purpose.

What’s been the hardest part?

It's a challenging path, for sure! Having a vision is relatively easy for me, but it is much more complicated to carry out. I'm learning that whenever God gives us an impossible task, he actually wants to look at him and say, "No, God, you do it." My goal is to be a follower of Jesus and, out of that, an emerging leader who knows how to steward the vision that ultimately belongs to Him. The biggest challenge is staying humble and asking for help.
